As it became known during the court session on March 3, Igor Belyakov was arrested on March 1 during the search in his apartment. Operational activities were carried out by the regional department of the Federal Security Service. The journalist and the head of the Astrakhan Press Club is suspected of signing contracts with a local sports organization with budget funding in 2015-2019 to create video materials and distribute them on local TV channels, but the obligations were not fully met. Belyakov pleaded not guilty.
