In the morning of October 30, law enforcers came to Idris Yusupov’s apartment with a search. They seized equipment and flash drives. The journalist was taken to the Department of the Investigative Committee for Dagestan and then released, being obliged to appear again for questioning as a witness in the case of mass riots at the Makhachkala airport. After the interrogation in the evening, Yusupov was released. He said that the investigators were interested in his connection to a Telegram channel calling for participation in anti-Semitic actions. The search disrupted the weekly picket of journalists in support of their colleague Abdulmumin Hajiyev, who was sentenced to 17 years in prison in a terrorism financing case.
