The authorities did not allow journalists of the independent media outlet Hook.report to observe the early presidential election on July 9. The formal reason for the refusal is unknown, but the apparent reason was the activity of the editorial staff during the April referendum on changing the country's constitution, when irregularities at polling stations were publicised.
