The correspondent of Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus Henadz Mazheyka was charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus: Part 3 of Article 130 (inciting racial, national or religious enmity, or discord) and Article 369 (insulting a representative of the authorities). The journalist is in custody in the Zhodzina pre-trial detention centre (Minsk region). Lawyers and relatives are forbidden to visit the journalist and give him packages. Mazheyka was detained by law enforcers on the night of October 2. On September 28, Henadz Mazheyka published an article on the website of Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus with a positive review of the Minsk resident Andrey Zeltsar, killed that day by KGB officers during a shootout who were trying to break into his flat. A KGB officer was also killed during that incident.
