On June 12, Aram Navasardyan, head of LLC "MPG," filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against opposition politician Hrant Bagratyan and the public organisation "Hayeli Club." The lawsuit demands a retraction of statements allegedly damaging to his honor and dignity, compensation of 1 million drams (over $2,500) from Hrant Bagratyan for defamation, and payment of court fees from both defendants. The case was prompted by a video published on May 12 on the YouTube channel of the news site "Hayeli.am," owned by the mentioned organisation. The video, titled "Nikol embezzled 60 billion from the 'shadow' over seven years," claims that "Aram Navasardyan is sponsored by the authorities or is being paid by someone to publish figures..." (referring to the results of opinion polls – ed.). The case is currently under review.
