The Hantsavichy District Court of the Brest Region has recognised the “Hantsavichy” account on the social network VKontakte (identifier: vk.com/gancchas) as “extremist informational material”. The online resource publishes local news with links to various media outlets. On the basis of the court’s decision, the Belarusian Ministry of Information has added the online resource to the Republican List of Extremist Materials. Under Belarusian law, the distribution and storage of materials deemed extremist entail administrative liability for both publishers and users.
