The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation has added the editor-in-chief of Caucasian Knot Grigory Shvedov to the register of «foreign agents». According to the Ministry, the journalist spread fakes about the policies of the Russian authorities, participated in the creation and distribution of content by «foreign agents» and «received indirect foreign funding». Caucasian Knot was declared a «foreign agent» in November 2021. In January 2017, Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament, publicly threatened Shvedov.
