SOTA correspondent Gleb Yakutov was detained near the MSU dormitory in Moscow. Yakutov’s MSU dormitory room, where he lives, was also searched. During the search, documents and equipment were confiscated from Gleb’s room: a phone and two laptops. During the hours-long interrogation — first informally and then in the presence of his lawyer — Yakutov was primarily questioned about Dmitry Ivanov, also an MSU student, and publications on the Telegram channel Protest MSU. Eventually, Yakutov was released with a non-disclosure undertaking. The search was conducted without a warrant, under the pretext of the urgency of the investigation. Yakutov was held for a night at the police station allegedly under the pretext that he was charged with petty hooliganism (Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation).
