The Kommersant correspondent Gleb Merkin, who was wearing a vest with «press» written on it and a badge, was at the scene of the alleged but failed action in Kazan. He had an editorial assignment in electronic form. The police officers searched the journalist’s personal belongings, took photos, drew up a detention report on him, and issued a warning not to violate the law on rallies, demonstrations, marches, and pickets. He was then released.
