Journalist Giorgi Diasamidze was fined for "violating traffic rules" on Rustaveli Avenue on February 17. The Georgian Dream party implemented stricter protest regulations, stipulating that "blocking a road" is punishable by a GEL 5000 (USD 1800) fine. Diasamidze was reporting on the protest that day. Authorities have been fining journalists for this violation, and although Diasamidze appealed the fine, his case remains on hold, not suspended.
