On 28-29 November 2024, police and special forces brutally cracked down on media workers in Tbilisi during a pro-EU protest sparked by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's announcement that the Georgian Dream party is halting EU accession process until 2028. Police officers forcibly removed Studio Monitor journalists Nino Tsverava and Nino Shubitidze from the entrance to the Kashveti Church, preventing them from filming. Cameraman Giorgi Baramidze was kicked by a police officer. Journalists were filming people running to the church away from the dispersal of the protests on Rustaveli Avenue.
