Italian journalist Giacomo Ferrara was denied entry to Georgia after being told at the Armenian land border that he owed a fine of GEL 5,000 for allegedly “artificially blocking” Rustaveli Avenue. Ferrara, who reported on the March 31 protest as a journalist, told Publika he refused to pay the fine and was therefore barred from entering the country. Ferrara said that this information came as a surprise to him, as no one had informed him about the fine. According to Giacomo Ferrara , he refused to pay the fine and demanded his passport back, which was returned to him after two hours.
