On July 2, the article «The tragedy in Nukus happened a year ago. Many questions are still unanswered» disappeared from the Gazeta.uz website an hour after publication. The author of the article noted that «no commemorative events are being held in Nukus or anywhere else these days. No official website remembers them». The text survived on the Internet, independent bloggers and journalists promptly disseminated it in social networks and on their resources.
