A freelance journalist conducted a study, ordered by the Kyrgyz organisation "Central Asian Barometer", on the issue of Tajik-Chinese cooperation among experts and journalists. At the moment, the journalist is facing a travel ban. It is unknown whether a criminal proceeding has been initiated against her. However, it is known that the General Prosecutor's Office is interrogating people - experts and journalists - who participated in the study. Officers from the General Prosecutor's Office read messages the freelance journalist sent to those who participated in the study directly from her phone. This proves that her technical equipment has been confiscated. The journalist has no right to talk about the case with other people.
