Blogger Fozilxoja Orifxojaev, known for his articles criticizing the Central Asian state's government for its restrictive religious policies, has been sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison over a post on Facebook. He was found guilty under part 3, paragraph «G» of article 244-1 (Production and Dissemination of Materials Containing Threat to Public Security and Public Order) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. One of the reasons for the prosecution was the conflict between Fozilxoja and the Center for Islamic Civilization employee Abror Abduazimov (pseudonym Abror Mukhtor Ali), who had previously been a prosecutor in the case of blogger Miraziz Bazarov.
