The Bragin District Court of the Gomel Region has recognised the Instagram page of the Filin media project titled “Filin. Zhurnal dlya umnykh” (identifier: instagram.com/filin.by) as extremist information material. On the basis of the court decision, the Ministry of Information of Belarus added the internet resource to the “Republican List of Extremist Materials”. Under Belarusian law, the distribution and storage of materials recognised as extremist entail administrative liability for both publishers and users.
