Police increased security measures because of the protests against the imprisonment of opposition politician Tofig Yagublu. Knowing about the protest in advance, the building of the Constitutional Court was blocked by reinforced police squads and the forces of the Interior Ministry's Rapid Response Regiment. The protest began in another location but the police began to detain everyone who chanted: "Freedom to Tofig Yagublu!”. Journalist Fatima Movlamli was among the detainees.
