On November 22, blogger Fatima Dzhuraeva posted on her Facebook page that she was beaten by the chief accountant of an electricity company in the Ulugnor district of the Andijan region. As a result of the inspection, the investigative unit of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case against the chief accountant under Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (deliberate infliction of minor bodily injury). According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination carried out on November 25, it was found that Zhuraeva had a concussion of the brain, a wound with a tear (contusion) of the left eyelid in the head, contusion of soft tissues of the left shoulder, lower back, abdomen, and buttocks, as well as bruises which are classified as injuries that caused a short-term deterioration of her health. The company accountant also smashed the journalist's phone. Zhuraeva uncovered fraudulent billing for electricity.
