The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a case against Sharafmal under Paragraph B of Part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement to hatred on the basis of nationality) and Paragraphs A and C of Part 2 of article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (rehabilitation of Nazism). The reason was the journalist’s live stream on March 15. According to the Investigative Committee, Sharafmal «publicly called on Ukrainians to commit mass murder of citizens of the Russian Federation».
