According to the investigation published by OCCRP, Forbidden Stories and Amnesty International, the Azerbaijani authorities used the spying program - Pegasus - of the Israeli company NSO Group known for developing cyberstalking devices to spy on journalists and activists. Among the victims Eynulla Fatullayev, founder and editor of the Russian-language newspaper Realny Azerbaijan and Azeri-language daily Gündəlik Azərbaycan.
