The Abakan prosecutor’s office initiated a case for incitement of hatred or hostility (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation) against the organization Expert-Media — the founder of the Khakassian magazine Novy Fokus. The prosecutor’s office was not satisfied with a number of publications from 2018-2021. Experts found in the publications information that allegedly forms and supports «intolerant attitudes» toward security forces officers, as well as information that insults their human dignity and public morality. Mikhail Afanasyev, editor-in-chief of Novy Fokus, is under arrest for «military fakes» (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
