Police arrested Evgeny while covering a protest against the presidential election results. During the arrest, he was beaten with truncheons. He was taken to a pre-trial detention centre, until the trial. A protocol was drawn on violation of the legislation on mass events. On 11 August, the court found the journalist guilty and arrested him for two days.
