The journalist was detained by the police when he was covering a protest against the presidential election results. During the detention, he was severely beaten. The journalist was taken to the detention center, where he was held until the trial. He was drawn up a report on violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). The court found Nikolaevich guilty and arrested him for 10 days.
