A preliminary court hearing was held in the Agsu District Court on the claim of SOCAR Vice President Mikail Ismailov against blogger Elshan Alisoy. Ismailov demands to condemn Alisoy under Article 147 (libel) and Article 148 (insult) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. Alisoy said that he shared on his Facebook page the article «The Dark Empire of Mikail Ismailov» published on the Azadsoz.com website, and wrote a comment to it: «Lord, why do they need so much wealth ... Mikail Ismailov is one of the 12 vice-presidents of SOCAR. I call it greediness and barbarity». «After this comment, Ismailov filed a lawsuit to bring me to criminal liability. In addition, he filed a civil suit and wants me to pay AZN 100,000 for moral damage», – the blogger said.
