The Oktyabrsky District Court of Vitebsk has designated the Facebook page of Vitebsk blogger Elena Yanushkovskaya (facebook.com/profile.php?id=100006977206423) as extremist informational material. During the 2020 protests, the blogger streamed footage from peaceful marches and later reported on the trials of their participants. Following the court’s decision, the Ministry of Information of Belarus has added the online resource to the Republican List of Extremist Materials. Under Belarusian law, the distribution and storage of materials deemed extremist entail administrative liability for both publishers and users.
