The Russian Ministry of Justice has added Saratov journalist Elena Nalimova to the register of “foreign agents.” The ministry claims she spread “unreliable information” about the actions of Russian authorities and the war in Ukraine, and that she maintains contacts with foreigners. In October 2025, a criminal case was opened against Nalimova for insulting a government official (Article 319 of the Criminal Code). She has also received repeated threats.
