Journalist Elena Celac, a freelance reporter for Anticorupție.mda, was insulted by Ilya Uzun, First Vice-President of the Executive Committee of Gagauzia, when she reached out to him for information related to an investigation. Celac was looking into the financial declarations of politicians, specifically seeking details about the income of companies registered under his wife’s name. In response, Uzun called her "a sick woman" and demanded that she provide the budget of her company and disclose its sources of funding.
