Journalist Ekaterina Tkacheva, who reported on the trials of political prisoners in Kaliningrad, was searched in connection with a treason case brought against Pavel Andreev, founder of the publication 7x7 and the independent cultural space Revolt Centre in Syktyvkar. Searches linked to this case were carried out at the homes of journalists and human rights defenders across 12 regions. During the search, Tkacheva’s phone, bank cards, and laptop were confiscated. She was interrogated by an FSB officer for eight hours. Tkacheva realised that her phone calls had been tapped, as the officer possessed extensive personal information about her. During the interrogation, she became unwell due to hunger. Following the search and interrogation, the journalist left Russia.
