Tbilisi City Court ruled that former journalist and host of the Rustavi 2 TV channel must pay GEL 25,000 (USD 8,503) compensation to the current owners of the TV channel for transferring to the Mtavari Arkhi TV channel. The trial was held following a lawsuit filed by Eka Kvesitadze, who demanded to find her dismissal from Rustavi 2 illegal and compensate her salary for the period she worked before her dismissal. The NGO Georgian Young Lawyers Association considered the court ruling unfounded and intends to appeal against it.
