Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, the Kutaisi mayoral candidate from the Georgian Dream ruling party, has filed a lawsuit against the Mtavari Arkhi TV channel, its general director Nika Gvaramia and journalist Eka Gagua. The reason was the remark by the journalist that Khakhaleishvili is an «agent of Georgian Security Service». «I am filing a lawsuit for the dissemination of information that defames honour and dignity», – Khakhaleishvili said, demanding a retraction and compensation of GEL 55,555 (about USD 18,000) from the TV channel.
