Nasha Niva editor-in-chief, Egor Martynovich, and the publication's photographer Nadezhda Buzhan were arrested near Bangalore Square. People nearby were protesting against the falsification of the 2020 presidential election. Their car was stopped by the police, after which riot police took the journalists to the Internal Affairs and Communications Department in a police van. Nadezhda Buzhan was released that evening without charge. Egor Martynovich was released a few hours later, having been charged on 2 counts: participating in an unauthorised protest, and disobeying the police. Security forces also seized the journalist's phone.
