On November 2, the lawyer Tigran Yegoryan filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against Editorial Office of Zhoghovurd LLC and the public organization Union of Journalists of Armenia, demanding compensation for the damage caused to his honor and dignity. The reason for the lawsuit was the statement of the Union in support of Zhoghovurd, published on October 3, against which the former official Samvel Kharazyan, Tigran Yegoryan’s client, has already filed his second lawsuit. The statement particularly says that the editorial office has serious suspicions that the plaintiff and especially his lawyer aim to harm the newspaper. Moreover, the document says, the possibility is not excluded that it was the Government of Nikol Pashinyan who gave the order to his favoured lawyer Yegoryan to persecute the media. The lawsuit is being considered.
