The Oktyabrsky District Court of Minsk arrested the journalist of Tribuna.com Dzmitry Ruta for 15 days under Article 24.23 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus (violation of the order of organising or holding mass events). The law enforcers detained Ruta in the morning of June 1. The reason for the detention was the fact that there was a football scarf with white and red colours on it in the passenger compartment of the journalist’s car. Dzmitry was accused of illegal picketing, taken to the police department, drawn up a report, and then sent to the temporary detention centre until the trial.
