Dziyana Seradziuk, the journalist of Novy Chas, and her husband Yauhen Batura were detained at the church's exit, where Belarusian mothers were holding a prayer to stop the Russian attack on Ukraine. An administrative report was drawn up on her for «disobedience to the police» (Article 24.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus) in the Central Police Department, the journalist was held at the police station for the night until the trial and was taken to court in handcuffs. On March 4, the judge of the Tsentralny District Court of Minsk Zmitser Karsiuk found Seradziuk guilty and arrested her for 15 days. The conditions in the detention centre on Akrestsina were torturous: 12 people were held in a double cell, they slept without mattresses in the stuffy atmosphere, there were no hygiene facilities, no showers, and the lights were on the whole time, and the nighttime roll-call was constantly on.
