The security forces detained Ivashin near his house. A search was carried out in his apartment: laptops, phones, SIM cards, money, notebooks and other belongings were confiscated. On the same evening, a search was conducted in the apartment of the journalist's parents. On March 12, the journalist was charged under Article 365 of the Criminal Code ( "Interference with the activities of a law-enforcement officer"), arrested for two months and placed in the KGB isolation ward. The reason for the arrest was a publication based on open information. The journalist found on the Ministry of Internal Affairs website a list of policemen waiting for affordable accommodation. After checking their names through the search engines, he found out that some of them had previously served in Ukraine and participated in the crackdown on the Independence Square (Maidan).
