Hrodna Regional Court sentenced journalist Dzianis Ivashin to 13 years and 1 month in a strict regime colony on charges of interference in the activities of a police officer (Article 365 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus) and treason against the state (Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus). Ivashin was also sentenced to a fine of 150 basic amounts. In addition, he had to pay BYN 2,000 to each of the nine victims in the case. The journalist was detained on March 12, 2021.
