The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus declared the Belarusian editorial office of Deutsche Welle — DW Belarus — an «extremist formation». The website, YouTube channel, social networks, messengers and the media logo are included in the list of banned materials. According to the law, any interaction with resources declared extremist formations entails the possibility of criminal prosecution and imprisonment for up to 10 years for participation in an extremist formation or assistance to an extremist formation (Article 361-1 and Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).
