The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg has sent local local historian and journalist Dmitry Vitushkin under arrest on charges of rehabilitation of Nazism on the Internet (Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and desecration of symbols of Russia’s military glory on the Internet (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He is charged with commenting on the post from 2022, published on behalf of the administrator of the VK page Ingermanlandia. The author of the comment called «a worthy role model» Finnish sniper Simo Häyhä, who defended his country during the Soviet-Finnish war «from the occupiers — allies of Nazi Germany». During the search on October 12, Vitushkin’s computers and phone were seized.
