A court in Lipetsk sentenced blogger Dmitry Krasichkov to a year of corrective labor in a case of group fraud in the insurance industry. Within a year, 10 percent of his salary will be withheld in the income of the state. According to the investigation, after the road accident, Krasichkov listed in the documents the parts that were not damaged. Krasichkov calls the case fabricated. Krasichkov’s apartment was searched in June 2021. He was planning to run for the post-election to the Lipetsk City Duma, scheduled for the fall of 2021. During the search, the head of the Center for Combatting Extremism was present — the activist published an audio recording in which the law enforcement officer said that Krasichkov would be convicted even before the election. After the search, he was taken to the CCE: there he was asked how he knew about the embezzlement of state contracts, about which he spoke in his video. The CCE chief also wondered when Krasichkov was planning to «withdraw».
