Youtuber Dmitry Ivanov (aka. Kamikadze D) was sentenced to 8 years detention in absentia by the Moscow Tverskiy District court because of posting 'fake news' concerning the war in Ukraine (contrary to Point D, Part 2, Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). This was on the basis of anti-war clips that he posted on his y\Youtube channel. In September 2022, he was designated as a "foreign agent" by the Ministry of Justice, who claimed that he was carrying out Ukrainian-funded 'political activism'. The criminal case against Ivanov was made public at the end of 2022, when a warrant for his arrest was issued. Two months later, Youtube deleted his channel which had 1.7 million subscribers, without issuing an explanation.
