The police detained the journalist in the evening - on the day of the presidential election, when he was covering a peaceful protest of townspeople who disagreed with the preliminary results of the vote. They took him to the District Department of Internal Affairs, drew up a protocol on violation of the mass events legislation. Before the trial, he was placed in an isolation ward. On 10 August, the court found the journalist guilty and arrested him for 5 days.
