Unknown persons in civilian clothes obstructed the work of Dilara Isa, the reporter of Radio Azattyq, who was covering a protest action of the residents of one of the districts of Shymkent. They covered the camera lens with an open umbrella and hands, and one of them also tried to snatch the camera from the journalist’s hands. The police officer, who was present on the scene, did not take any action against the man, who was disturbing the journalists. On the contrary, the policeman demanded that the reporter «not touch the umbrella» and warned that otherwise she too could be put in the car and taken to the station. Journalists from KTK, Astana and Channel 31 also encountered obstacles in their work.
