In Shymkent, Meldebek Adilbayev, chairman of the polling station commission for referendum №77, demanded from the Radio Azattyq reporter the «hard copy» of the editorial assignment for admission to the polling station. In response to the reporter's questions about the validity of the request, Adilbayev referred to the law on the republican referendum and the law on elections. The Radio Azattyq reporter presented the committee members with a digital copy of the editorial assignment and her journalist accreditation card. An hour later, the reporter was allowed to enter the polling station after the intervention of the chairman of the territorial election commission of Shymkent Kaiyrbek Kunanbayev.
