The Pskov City Court has sentenced Denis Kamalyagin, editor-in-chief of Pskovskaya Gubernia, in absentia to three years in a general-regime penal colony. He was convicted of “discrediting” the Russian army and failing to meet the obligations imposed on individuals designated as “foreign agents.” The case for “discrediting” the army was opened in 2023 after Pskovskaya Gubernia published a YouTube video about a Russian missile strike on a residential building in Uman on April 28, 2023. Earlier, in October 2022, Kamalyagin was fined 35,000 rubles (€375 ) for an anti-war post on his personal Telegram channel. A separate case under the “foreign agents” law became public in February 2024.
