The editor-in-chief of Pskovskaya Gubernia Denis Kamalyagin became a defendant in a criminal case on evasion of duties of a «foreign agent» (Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Kamalyagin left Russia in March 2022, when he and other Pskov-based politicians and journalists were subjected to mass searches in a case of defamation of the governor. Late last year, a criminal case was brought against him for «discrediting» the army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation); the case was a video on the YouTube channel of Pskovska Gubernia about a Russian army missile attack on a nine-storey apartment building in Uman on April 28, 2023.
