On 28-29 November 2024, police and special forces brutally cracked down on media workers in Tbilisi during a pro-EU protest sparked by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's announcement that the Georgian Dream party is halting EU accession process until 2028. Camera operator of the Georgian Public Broadcaster was injured by the special forces during the dispersal of the anti-government protest outside the Georgian Parliament.
