On May 24, Vazgen Galstanyan (aka Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, who leads the protest movement against the Pashinyan government) filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against journalist David Levonyan and the ruling party Civil Contract, which is the founder of the news website Civic.am. The plaintiff demands to refute the defamatory information concerning him, which, in his opinion, was disseminated on April 29 on the defendants’ YouTube channels and on David Levonyan’s Facebook page. In particular, Galstanyan attributes such information to the allegations that he sells the Motherland, tries to involve Armenia in war, and receives millions of dollars from the Kremlin for it, spends money, tries to dethrone Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, is an agent of KGB/FSB, provokes war on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, tries to carry out a coup, and has turned the church into a means of business. The lawsuit is being considered.
