Supreme Court of Chuvashia reversed the acquittal ruling of the lower court against Komarova. She was accused of participating in an unauthorised action for working at a meeting with Semyon Kochkin, a former coordinator of Alexey Navalny's office, in Cheboksary, which he held as part of his election campaign to the city assembly of deputies in August 2020. According to Komarova, the police drew up an administrative report on her for participating in the action six months after the event. On August 2, Leninsky District Court of Cheboksary reconsidered the decision on the journalist's case and fined her RUB 10,000.
