On July 17, in Almaty, the police cordoned off the streets leading to the akimat of the city. Police officers did not allow anyone, including journalists, to approach the city administration building, where the rally against the forced vaccination against COVID-19 had to take place. Journalists from the Vlast online magazine Daniyar Musirov and Yuna Korosteleva were told by the police that «the akimat is closed for quarantine». That day, the law enforcement officers stopped the journalists almost every hundred meters – to check the documents.
