Freelance journalist Daniyar Moldabekov, who writes for several media outlets, reported that he was not allowed into the Almaty City Prosecutor’s Office building to cover a meeting between prosecutors and relatives of people detained in connection with the January events. People have reported torture and inadequate investigations into their complaints, most of which have been closed.
